INTRODUCTION
With the overwhelmingly positive response we received for Pop Goes The Plaza! – the temporary public space installation in downtown Montclair – we invite our community to submit their interest to bring this pop-up kit to their block! Included in this block-party-on-wheels are a few irresistible hands-on activities to choose from to complete the experience. Our pop-up block party kit is perfect as a weekday after-school enrichment experience, or as a weekend block party with neighbors!
INTRODUCTION
We're packing all the components of “Pop Goes the Plaza!” and hitting the streets of Montclair! Originally conceived as a kit of parts that transformed Church and South Park Streets into much-needed public space, we're bulking up our kit with phenomenal activities to delight every age.
WHAT COMES WITH THE KIT?
The kit arrives in a trailer, and block hosts work with our volunteers to transform your street, with a tarped area, barricades, chalk interactive boards, benches, and even select short-film screenings from our MADFlash Film Fest line-up.
To complete the experience, we provide an incredible selection of add-on activities:

SELECTION PROCESS
We will use the following criteria to assess whether your block is the ideal host for our pop-up block party:
How suitable is your block to a street closure? (this will be measured against Montclair Traffic Bureau's list of eligible streets)
How ready and willing is your block to host a block party like ours?
What steps is your block going to take in order to ensure inclusive participation?
What dates are you willing to host in the event your first choice isn't available?
How many neighbors are ready to serve as co-hosts?
IF YOU'RE SELECTED
We will notify you immediately, at which point, you will need to complete the following by October 8, 2020 at noon:
Fill out and submit Montclair's Department of Public Safety own form, and
Pay for any and all town-imposed fees. DesignShed is not responsible for any fees to hire police officers.
